What is Microneedling?

MICRONEEDLING, or “collagen induction therapy,” is controlled mechanical damage of the skin. This mechanical damage initiates a healing response from the skin and hyper-stimulates new collagen production making it stronger than it was before. Microneedling also breaks up the scar tissue that forms on the surface of the skin from acne scars.

Microneedling creates “micro-channels” in the skin, making it more permeable to any and all products applied to the treated area for the first couple days post treatment.  Nearly all skin care products are not intended to be absorbed that deeply into the skin which is why Regenics uses Alastin skin nectar. This product is filled with peptides and antioxidants and is specifically intended to be used post aesthetic treatment and can safely be absorbed on a deeper level.

Benefits of Microneedling

  • Improving elasticity
  • Increasing firmness
  • Softening fine lines and wrinkles
  • Repairing acne scars
  • Decreasing pore size

The Process

The whole process takes about an hour to complete. A half an hour before the procedure a topical anesthetic is applied to ensure the procedure is comfortable.

Down time is minimal compared to other more aggressive treatments. No working out, hot water, or steam for the first two days. No sun for one week. Only very mild soap and Alastin or HA is applied to the skin for the first 3 days after treatment. Patients may resume normal activity after one week.

Best results are seen with around four treatments.
